Meet Rooney
I’d like you all to meet the newest member of the Rochford family…
Rooney!
Friday night, Brian and I picked up this 8 week old vizsla pup. We had always wanted two vizslas, but we weren’t quite sure when we would get the second one. Bernie turns 2 in a couple of weeks, and while he is far from perfect we all had each other kind of figured out. We had talked about getting a second dog in 2017 at some point, but Bernie’s breeder notified us that Bernie’s mom and dad were having a litter this fall! That was all it took. We were sold on getting a second vizsla 🙂
Things have been a bit crazy, but also SO fun the past couple of days. Having two dogs takes a little getting used to, and when one is a puppy that doesn’t even know it’s own name…things get interesting 😉
Bernie and Rooney are getting along so well. We honestly couldn’t have asked for them to get along any better. They play together, they snuggle together, Bernie let’s Rooney win and he also takes the toy away when HE wants to win. It’s so adorable to watch!
It’s also so fun to watch them because they are so similar. Just look at how they sleep:
While we are definitely still getting to know little Rooney, there are some things that are pretty clear about her little personality.
She loves to snuggle as close as she can.
She loves to give kisses.
She’s a sassy little thing and very confident around Bernie and Cooper (Bernie’s doggie bff).
She wants to do whatever Bernie is doing.
She will fall asleep in just about any position.
We are absolutely in love with her!

Congratulations! Rooney is so adorable. I especially love the name because the Rooney family has owned the Steelers for EVER and that’s a big name in Pittsburgh! I even went to Rooney Middle School 🙂
How funny!! We picked the name because in Irish it means “Red Headed” and Brian’s family is VERY Irish 🙂 Love that you have a connection too!
