Good Monday morning!
I can’t believe that today marks one week before Christmas Eve! There is still so much to do, and the time is literally flying by. Luckily, I was able to savor every last holiday moment this weekend by being a tourist in my city of Indianapolis and really soaking in the events that this city has to offer.
Saturday, Brian and I celebrated our “Indianapolis Holiday Weekend.” There is honestly so much that I want to share with you about each thing that we did, so today I will give you more of an overview of what we did and I will go into detail tomorrow and Wednesday.
The day started as every Saturday does…with a little Body Pump! I can’t get over how much I love teaching his class and how it truly sets the tone for a great day.
After Pump, we showered at the gym then headed to one of our favorite local restaurants, Patachou. I have written about this little eatery before, and I think it gets better every time that I eat there!
Because this was our special “Indianapolis Holiday Weekend” we treated ourselves to some afternoon drinks. I had a bloody mary and Brian enjoyed a mimosa. Yum!
When it finally came time to decide what dish to enjoy, I went with one of my favorites: the Spinach Salad. This salad is a bed of spinach topped with croutons, glazed pecans, gorgonzola cheese, onions, and strawberries. The salad is huge and delicious, and although I love every bite it is always hard to clean my plate.
Brian decided on one of their famous broken yoke egg sandwiches with a side of fruit. I have honestly never tried one of these, but they are one of the most popular items on the menu! They must be good.
After lunch we headed to the Indiana History Museum. This museum was so amazing, and Brian and I really had a great time there! I can’t wait to share the details with you.
When we were done with the museum, we headed to a little area called Mass Ave with cute shops and restaurants. We shopped around for a bit, bought some Christmas presents, watched the end of the Butler and IU game and then it was time to head over to our friends’ apartment to change and get ready for dinner.
After a quick wardrobe change we headed to a restaurant in downtown Indy called Iaria’s. This local Italian restaurant is owned by the parent’s of a friend of Brian’s. Again, I will go into more detail about this restaurant later, but seriously it was so tasty and the staff was so friendly! Definitely a great place to eat!
After dinner, it was time for the big event that I had been waiting for….the Duke Energy Yuletide Celebration. This is an Indianapolis tradition that I had been wanting to go to for years. The show was amazing and I can’t wait to go next year. 🙂
We ended the night by heading to a local bar for a drink and taking pictures in front of the Monument Circle Christmas Tree, which just happens to be the largest Christmas Tree in the country!
Hope you all had a great weekend, and I can’t wait to share the details with you!
