I ran my first 3 miles of half marathon training, and boy was it a sweaty one. I didn’t want to touch my legs while I was stretching because they were literally dripping with sweat. After my run I had a little snack of peanuts, cashews, honey-roasted soy nuts and cranberries. It was perfect! I also drank a 24 oz bottle of water. I find that the more water I drink, the less sore I am the next day.
In other news…I was on the news yesterday while fitting kids with bicycle helmets! Check out the link!
RILEY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN HOSTS BICYCLE HELMET GIVEAWAY. WTHR-TV Indianapolis (7/11, 5:45 p.m. EDT, Tiernon) reported, “Keeping kids healthy has always been the goal of Riley Hospital for Children and now they’re making sure your children are safe as well.” On Monday, “Riley hosted a bicycle helmet safety demonstration and a giveaway at the Black Expo. Every child there was fitted and learned how to properly wear their brand new helmet for biking.” Another helmet safety event is scheduled for Saturday at the Black Expo.
