You know when you just have a week that feels like “Yeah! This week was awesome!!”?? Well, that was me this week. And Brian too! We both received great news about things going on in school and I have some other fun things I’m working on to help further my future career as a dietitian. Woo!
In addition to having a great week, we also have some fun Saturday evening to Sunday plans with friends in the mountains. Lots to smile about around here 🙂
Now, it’s time for a little Five Things Friday where I recap different things I did during the week, things that are making me happy, and cool things I’ve found around the web. Enjoy and TGIF!
Five Things I Ate:
An easy egg scramble with broccoli slaw, spinach, Texas Pete’s hot sauce and a side of strawberries and bananas
A nutty Asian-inspired stir fry meal with something new to me…sweet potato noodles! Guys, I think I have a new obsession (and this recipe will be coming to the blog soon!)
Coconut flour pancakes topped with peanut butter, fruit and a side of iced cold brew with coconut milk
Lunch bowl with spinach, roasted vegetables (that I made a big batch of on Sunday), radish, leftover chicken burger (see above), sauerkraut, and dijon.
Five Workouts I Did:
Taught Bodypump
Boot Camp
CoreCardio Circuit (so fun!)
4 mile run with Bernie
Heading to Tabata this morning
Five Things Making Me Happy:
Running season!! This week I signed up for the Bolder Boulder 10K with Brian and the Colfax Half Marathon. Both races are in May, so I plan on starting my training in a few weeks. I can’t wait to up Bernie’s mileage along with mine this time around!

This hands-free leash that goes around my waist for running with Bernie. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant about using it at first, but I really love the hands-free feel while running and recommend it for anyone running with their pooch! (Similar leash here!)
Last week’s tests! Last week, I had two tests and I got great grades on both. Yep! That’s totally making me happy 🙂
Brian’s great school news and my great school news.
The sun! A few days were quite chilly around here, but the sun has been shining bright and I seriously love it.
That egg scramble looks delicious! And that’s so exciting that you’re signed up for a race. I haven’t done one in forver but it’s such a great motivator. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I am so intrigued by the hands-free leash! Do you feel like he could pull you down easier than when holding with your hand? This would be so nice when I am pushing the stroller and walking tebow. It can be hard to hold onto both!
hey Jana! The hands free leash is great because it has a slight bungee so it doesn’t feel like he is going to pull me down easier. We have used it while hiking and snow shoeing as well and it has worked great on all occasions! I think you totally need the hands free leash!

Doesn’t it look yummy!! 🙂 Hope your weekend was great too!
I’ve never tried a hands-free leash, but that looks like a neat idea!! Can’t wait for your sweet potato noodle recipe!
It really is a great tool for running with my dog! I love it!
So jealous that you can run with your pup! Mine is a lazy bum. Sounds like you had a great week! Keep it up! 🙂
Awe! A good walk may be good for your puppy rather than a run…or just lots of snuggles!

Yay for good weeks! That’s a great way to “end” a week 😉 Now let’s carry it over to the next!
YES! I agree!
