Hi Friends! Long time no talk!!
I had full intentions of writing a Five Things Friday post last week, but it turns out Organic Chemistry and a test in one of my nutrition courses got the best of me before Brian and I headed to the windy city (Chicago) for a wedding.
Completing a nutrition lab on vegetables!
Last week was busy with a few good runs for my marathon training and lots of good eats 🙂
A simple meal of roasted acorn squash, grilled chicken and sauteed spinach.
I ran the fastest I have ran in quite some time! 3 miles with a 7:53 pace.
The weekend in Chicago was absolutely amazing!
It was so great to see so many of our closest friends and everything was absolutely beautiful!! 🙂
I was even able to sneak in a quick morning run along the lake…isn’t that view just gorgeous!?
I also had my first experience with Rent the Runway this weekend. Have you guys heard of that service?
For those who aren’t familiar with Rent the Runway, it is a dress rental service. I’ll be honest. I’ve been toying with the idea of checking out the service for quite some time now but I was SO afraid that the dress wouldn’t fit or look good in person. It literally took me years to finally “pull the trigger” and give Rent the Runway a try…and I’m so happy I did!
My dress arrived in the garment bag pictured above (these are new and not everyone is receiving them with their rentals yet!)
The dress came on Thursday since our flight was on Friday morning.
The dress came in two sizes just in case one did not fit the way I wanted. It literally fit like a glove! So perfect and so comfortable, AND I received compliments ALL night long which made me feel great 🙂 Renting this dress was so worth it.
I also rented a pair of earrings 🙂
The best part? Sunday morning, after the wedding, I packed up the dress and put it in the UPS shipping box at the hotel. I didn’t even have to go out of my way to send the dress back!! How awesome is that?!
If you are on the fence about trying Rent the Runway, I completely understand. That being said, after my first experience with the rental dress service, I will definitely be doing it again 🙂
Well friends, I have to get going to teach a Bodypump class and work on a nutrition project, so I hope you have an amazing week!!
Based on this post, here are a few similar ones you should check out.

How funny, I rented that EXACT dress last weekend too for my friend’s baby shower. I received so many compliments, it’s such a beautiful dress. Love RTR…I used it for so many events!
Great minds think alike!
I’ve heard of rent the runway but have never tried it myself. I don’t go anywhere fancy enough! The dress is really cute though!
If you are going to a wedding, Rent the Runway is perfect!! 🙂
I use Rent The Runway all the time. My sorority sisters and I used to love it during semi/formal time! Now that the wedding bug has hit my friend group it’s perfect to get a plethora of dresses, for the cost of purchasing one high quality piece! Love the dress you picked 🙂
YES! I wish I had known about it when I was in college 🙂
That dress is gorgeous!! I love the color!
Thanks, Hannah!
Your dress is really cute!!
Thanks, Emily!
I haven’t tried rent the runway (but don’t go to enough fancy events to need to) but I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. I like the dress you picked! Much different style than I’ve seen on their site and I really like it!
It’s perfect for weddings or even bachelorette parties 🙂 It was so fun to just have it sent right to me!
I LOVE Rent the Runway and possibly won’t buy another dress for a wedding again (unless I love it that much). I rented a Badgley Miscka dress and Kate Spade necklace for my brother-in-law’s wedding and got a ton of compliments. LOVE their service….
Sounds beautiful, Christen!
