Happy Monday!
I had a GREAT birthday weekend with my family. Β So much love so much to share. Β I can’t believe I am 25…crazy! But, I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a great year!
Get ready for a post with lots of pictures π
Friday, my coworkers surprised me with delicious cupcakes (one of them is a baker!!), a card, and a yummy scented candle. Β It was so thoughtful of them to think of me on my birthday.
Seriously though, this was the BEST cupcake I have ever tasted.
After work, Brian and I cleaned up our apartment and ourselves, popped a little champagne (from Aldi!) and got ready to have some of his dental school friends over.
I made a batch of cookies and guacamole for everyone to enjoy…yum!
It was a fun night! I was up a bit later than I had planned, but it was worth it π
Saturday morning, I met up with my running group for an 8 mile run. Β Unfortunately, my watch wouldn’t sync up at the beginning of the run, so I was about a quarter mile off on my mileage…oh well!
It was still a great run and a good way to kick off the day.
After my run, I was starving so I made a yummy smoothie bowl topped with fruit and peanut butter and showered up and got dressed for the day.
Once breakfast was done, I packed all my breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for the week. Β Man, did that feel good to get it done early!
Around 11am, Brian and I hopped in the car with our friend Sara to head to Andrea’s wedding party in New Harmony, IN.
Of course we made a Starbucks pit stop. Β My first frappaccino in quite some time!!
The celebration was really cute! Β I loved all the burlap and lace and the flowers were so cute. Β Kyle and Andrea were so happy! π Β I love celebrating wedding fun with friends.
After the wedding party Sara, Brian and I headed back up to Indy. Β Brian and I were actually pretty exhausted by the time we got home, so we grabbed something to eat and then headed to bed shortly after. Β It was glorious to get caught up on some sleep!
Sunday morning I actually slept in until 7am! Happy birthday to me!
I laced up my shoes and hit the pavement for an easy 3.5 mile run just to get my body movin’.
After the run, I got showered up and headed to my sister’s apartment for a birthday brunch for Brian and I (his birthday is May 7).
Everyone was there! Even my brother and his girlfriend were able to make it π
Kenny (my brother) and his girlfriend helping mom in the kitchen.
Brenna and her boyfriend, David.
Dad! π
We all enjoyed some yummy homemade bloody marys made by yours truly.
And brunch was delicious! Β Lots of fruit, breakfast potatoes, crockpot french toast, salmon quiche. Β Yum!!
And after all that, we all somehow saved room for…strawberry ice cream cake!
My brother made me a cute card (OK I’m not THAT old!)
And my family got Brian and I a white water rafting trip to use when we move to Colorado!! Brian and I both really love being active and trying new things, so we cannot wait to use this trip.
The family π
After brunch and presents, everyone headed out while Brenna, Mom and I headed to see the Butler Ballet’s Cinderella.
It was a long ballet, but it was so good! I love going to live performances of just about any kind, so it was the perfect way to spend my birthday afternoon.
When the show was over, I came home to whip up a quick dinner of raw zoodles (zucchini noodles) and carrot noodles topped with some avocado dill dressing, tomato, and dijon salmon. Β It was so light and refreshing. Β Definitely a warm-weather meal.
And because I it was still my birthday I ended the night with something sweet.
A piece of a cupcake from my work friends and some cake batter ice cream from Chocolate Covered Katie.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Β It truly was a special and wonderful weekend.
Bring it on 25!
