Acouple of months ago, I went home for the weekend to hang out with my mom. Mom enjoys trying new recipes and finding new favorites just like me, and she knows that I like to try new things too. When I came home that particular time, she made a batch of fish tacos and I absolutely LOVED the seasonings that she put on the fish. The flavor is subtly spicy with a bit of tang from the lime. Mmmm, my mouth is watering thinking about it!
I purchased some frozen tilapia this past weekend and immediately thought to put this seasoning combo on top.
She used tilapia in the original recipe, which is why I also used tilapia when making this dish. I think that these seasonings would be great on any mild fish, or even chicken.
With one bite of the dish, Brian was giving it rave reviews claiming that this dish was a “re-make.” Those words were music to my ears, so I HAD to share the recipe with you!
Chili Lime Tilapia
Ingredients:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Combine all ingredients except tilapia in a small bowl. Stir until combined. Place thawed tilapia in a greased, glass baking dish or on a greased baking pan. Rub the seasonings on top of each fish filet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes with a fork.
**This fish is great served over a salad, in a soft taco shell with cole slaw and taco sauce, by itself with roasted veggies on the side, or any other way you wish to eat it!
What is one of your favorite dishes someone made for you, or that you have eaten at your parent’s home?
This chili lime tilapia is really making the top of the list…and my mom’s salmon patties! What can I say, I love seafood and my mom knows it!
