Recently, we went apple picking and we have SO many apples. While I love making roasted apples, Homemade Applesauce and my Fall Apple Salad, we also love apples and dip for a simple snack.
This Greek Yogurt Apple Dip is made with plain Greek yogurt, peanut butter, honey and vanilla extract and is so nutty and sweet. It pairs perfectly with a crisp and crunchy apple!
Ingredients in Greek Yogurt Apple Dip
Plain Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt is high in protein (there are about 20g of protein in 1 cup!), calcium, vitamin B12, and selenium among other nutrients. Because it is thick and creamy, it has the perfect texture for a dip.
Peanut butter: Peanut butter contains heart healthy monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. I use the unsweetened kind for this recipe and it adds just the right amount of peanut flavor.
Honey: Honey is the natural sweetener used in this recipe.
Vanilla extract: Vanilla extract adds a warmth and sweetness to this dip without adding any extra sugar.
How to Make Greek Yogurt Apple Dip
This is a great recipe to have little ones help with because it really just requires dumping and mixing. In a medium bowl, combine the yogurt, peanut butter, honey and vanilla. Stir it all together until it’s creamy and then serve immediately or store in the fridge until you are ready to serve the dip.
Tips for Making Greek Yogurt Apple Dip
I don’t recommend using a sweetened yogurt for this dip. In my opinion, it would make the dip too sweet. I haven’t tested this recipe with a different type of yogurt, I only tested plain Greek yogurt, but you could try this with another plain yogurt and let me know what you think.
I typically use natural peanut butter for this dip, but I bet it would taste great with another nut or seed butter!
This dip is so simple to make, it’s great to have out as part of a fruit tray when you are serving company.
