Hey friends!
Thank you for the birthday wishes 🙂 It was a great day yesterday.
While the day was absolutely wonderful, it got off to a bit of a rocky start. Â Sunday, I actually laid around the apartment cuddling with Bernie all day because I had a fever and just did not feel all that great. Â Then, yesterday morning I woke up with a headache which is never a good sign. Â I still didn’t feel healthy or strong, so I had to cancel my Bodypump class. Â While I hate canceling things (especially last minute!) I really think the decision to rest more allowed me to progressively feel better throughout the day.
After a day of relaxation, Brian and I enjoyed a yummy and quick birthday treat dinner from Whole Foods (I know it’s not fancy, but I love it!)
We then quickly changed our clothes to head out to a yoga class at Kindness Yoga. Â (Brian got us both memberships for the month as a birthday gift!)
We then came home and I was surprised by our friends with some yummy vegan chocolate ice cream from Bonnie Brae’s!  We enjoyed the cupcakes too!! 🙂
Such a fun way to spend my birthday!
While I had fun yesterday, Brian and I are really celebrating our birthdays this weekend by spending it up in the mountains in Estes Park, so if you have any recommendations of things we must do or trails we must hike send your ideas my way!!
Now, the past couple of days have been a bit rainy and chilly but when the sun is out it’s absolutely amazing!! It’s warm, the birds are chirping, everyone is outside, there are flowers everywhere. Â It’s seriously perfect.
What do warm weather and sunshine make you think of? Â Well, I realize I may be a little crazy and alone on this thought process but I’ve got SMOOTHIES on the brain!
Now, I am a HORRIBLE decision maker and last week when the smoothie craving hit I couldn’t decide between my three favorites.
OK, so I love strawberry because it’s just so classic.  Strawberries are my favorite berry and you can’t go wrong there, but I decided to step outside the box.  I love blueberries in smoothies because to me, the blueberry flavor just takes any smoothie over the top (just watch out for blueberries that get stuck in your teeth…worse than oreos or broccoli!).  Last but not least, I love pineapples in smoothies not only for the flavor but the TEXTURE.  They make the smoothie creamy and a bit frothy and just perfect for slurping with a straw or spoon.  So, because I can’t make a decision to save my life what did I do?  Combined blueberries and pineapple for an absolutely FANTASTIC morning (noon or night time!) treat 🙂
And, speaking of creamy…that’s what the banana is for.  I ALWAYS add in a frozen banana 🙂
Why is it called “sneaky green?” Â Check out the recipe and you’ll see!

This came at the perfect moment – just when I was looking for some smoothie inspiration!! Thanks!
So glad I could help!! 🙂
I definitely have to “sneak” in my smoothie greens. This looks really good!
I don’t mind the green looking smoothies but I know it grosses some people out so this would be good for those people. It looks delicious regardless though.
Glad you’re feeling better!
I totally agree! Green doesn’t bother me, but if it’s hidden…more people will enjoy!! 🙂
