Things I’m Loving: February 2016

Things I'm Loving February 2016 from Treble in the Kitchen

Well happy March!!  February was an amazing month, but I’m really happy that it’s March because that means SPRING is almost here.  While I love the winter months for the holidays and being the mountains for skiing, hiking is where it’s at for me.  I can’t wait to lace up my boots and hit the trails VERY soon.  On that note, let’s take a look at the highlight reel from February.

Products/Services I’m Loving:

Now Nutri-Shave Shave Cream

I received a bottle of this amazingness back in January as part of an ongoing partnership with NOW Foods and I’m still using it!  A little bit goes a long way with this stuff, and I really love it.  It does a great job at moisturizing and protecting while shaving.  It has also helped with some razor burn issues I was having and is paraben free and gluten free.  While I never really thought that I needed a natural shaving cream, I’m so glad I tried this stuff.  I’m totally hooked.

Derma e Skincare

Last month, I entered an instagram contest and won all of the above face cleansing products from Derma e.  So far, I am really liking the way that my skin is reacting to the products.  I don’t feel like the moisturizers are thick or oily and they don’t make my face shiny (I have BIG time issues with that!).  The products are still pretty new to me, but right now I’m really digging them.

Soybu Convertible Back Pack

Soybu Convertible Back Pack

A few weeks ago, I received a fun package inviting me to attend a new fitness class at CorePower Yoga and this amazing bag was included.  I feel like this is the modern day equivalent to the Mary Poppins bag.  It isn’t HUGE, but there are so many pockets and compartments you can fit literally anything in it.  Another cool thing is that you can use it as a back pack, cross body  or shoulder bag.  So far, I’ve used it as a gym bag and an overnight bag and it has worked amazing.

  • Succulents

Succulent

Is anyone else totally in love with succulents like I am?  Last week, I saw this adorable garden at Trader Joe’s and couldn’t pass it up.  I’m hoping to keep this alive (I’ve killed quite a few plants, including succulents in my day!), so any tips on succulent care are welcome.

  • New-To-Me Cook Books!

Cook Books

I absolutely ADORE cook books.  I read them like novels, I tab every recipe that looks amazing, and I get so much inspiration from them.  Recently, I’ve been cooking up quite a few new-to-me recipes from these cook books that I received for Christmas.  If you are looking for a good cook book with healthy, nourishing, and fulfilling recipes I can’t recommend these cook books enough!

Alex and Ani

Brian’s mom got me this bracelet for Valentine’s Day and I think I fall more and more in love with it each day.  I’ve always been the type of gal that believes “everything happens for a reason” and this bracelet is such a great reminder that life is a journey and that I need to take time to enjoy all the moments.

Foods I’m Loving:

Jelly Brunch

I had the harvest hash topped with two poached eggs and I can honestly say that I will probably order this every time I go back.  The hash was full of brussels sprouts, sweet potato, rutabaga, and parsnips and it was SO good.  If you ever check out that brunch spot, you gotta get the hash!

Kombucha

I feel like I find new flavors and brands that I love each time I try the fizzy drink. My current fav is Rowdy Mermaid (local to Denver/Boulder!).

Workouts I’m Loving

  • Walking and running with Bernie

Walking Bernie

I have officially signed up for two races in May, so I’m starting to incorporate more running into my weekly routine to prep for my training runs.  I can’t WAIT to get some long runs in with Bernie.

I plan on writing a detailed review, but I have to mention this as a workout I’ve loved this month.  It’s a boot camp, circuit style workout that really pushes each individual participating and goes SO fast.  It’s a great total body workout and I can’t wait to share more about it with you!

Things I’m Loving to Read/Listen/Watch:

Read

This book is all about the plants that we eat, how they have evolved over time, and how to select the fruits and veggies with the most nutrients.  I feel like I’m learning so much from this book!

Listen

If you have listened to season one of Serial with Adnan’s case, then you will definitely want to listen to the daily trial updates from Sarah.  They are super short episodes (about 15 minutes) and there are only three, but it’s great to listen to how things are going down and what they are doing to bring the case back to trial.

Things I'm Loving December 2015 | Treble in the Kitchen

Watch

  • The Jinx | I saw this HBO docuseries recommended on a list of shows for “People that Loved Making A Murderer,” and my mom recommended it.  After the first episode (there are 6 in the series) Brian and I were hooked!! If you are into this kind of stuff, this series will grab you and hold your attention the ENTIRE time.

Memories and Moments I’m Loving:

  • Kate’s (Brian’s mom) visit!

Brian, Kate, Tara

We always have so much fun exploring Denver when visitors come.  It was such  treat to have Kate here for a long weekend in February!

  • Bernie and Cooper at the Dog Park in Evergreen

Bernie and Cooper

These guys are SO adorable together and are totally buds.  I love watching them run and have a blast off leash at the dog park.

  • Lots of skiing and mountain time

Skiing

Brian Tara Kate Breckenridge

While I am excited for heat and sunshine, I can’t complain about being able to go to the mountains several weekends each month for a little fun in the snow 🙂

  1. Yay!! These are such great things to love. And oh my gosh! I love Alex and Ani! I have 10 or 11 of them! Yeah, I’m obsessed! I live in RI and they originated in my state! So I’ve been collecting them for years… so much fun!! 🙂

  2. We watched the Jinx too.. it is so good! I am so jealous of your skiing pictures! We lived in Utah about 5 years ago and made it to Park City almost every weekend!

    • They are totally unrelated, so that’s ok that you haven’t watched Making a Murderer 🙂 Happy March!
