School Keepsake Boxes

Marie starts school this year, and I want to be as organized as possible with all of the things that she will bring home from school with her. Putting everything in a file box (or two) throughout the years seems like a great way to keep track of special papers, artwork, and photos from school. Then, when the girls are grown up I can give them their organized keepsake boxes full of memories for them to enjoy.

How to make a School Keepsake Box

I created my own School Keepsake Boxes by using stackable totes with lids from the Container Store, then filling them with hanging file folders.  I labeled each file folder with one of the following categories:

  • 0-3 years
  • PK – this is what our school calls preschool
  • JK – this is what our school calls pre-K
  • Kindergarten
  • First Grade
  • Second Grade
  • Third Grade
  • Fourth Grade
  • Fifth Grade
  • Sixth Grade
  • Seventh Grade
  • Eighth Grade
  • Ninth Grade
  • Tenth Grade
  • Eleventh Grade
  • Twelfth Grade
  • Cards
  • Other

I then followed the following videos to use my Cricut Joy to make cute name labels for the boxes, but you can also buy them on Etsy.
